Linklaters advised the lenders on the largest refinancing to date in the renewable energy sector in France
Linklaters advised Crédit Industriel et Commercial, Bpifrance, Crédit Agricole Corporate Investment Bank, Auxifip, CaixaBank and La Banque Postale, as co-arrangers and lenders, on the refinancing of almost all of Boralex’ portfolio of wind and solar assets in France.
This transaction is, to date, the largest refinancing to close in the renewable energy sector in France, with a total value of EUR 1.1 billion (or CAD 1.7 billion).
This operation regroups under three portfolio financings assets which were previously financed individually through over 30 loan agreements. It also allows Boralex to immediately free up financial resources, most of which will be used to develop future projects. This refinancing also includes a construction tranche to finance capexes on projects under construction and the repowering of existing projects.
The Linklaters team was composed of François April, Cyril Boussion and Pierre Guillot, Partners, Samuel Bordeleau, Aurore Imbabazi and Pierre Sikorav, Managing Associates, Saadoun Alioua, Nathanaël Caillard, Sandra Hoballah Campus, Thibault Hurbli, Camille Lapeyre Sabatie de Chavardes, Etienne Paletto, Fairuz Ben Lahcen and Enzo Beule, Associates.
