Mike is well-established in the executive compensation space and practices in all aspects of executive compensation, including equity and other incentive plans, employment, severance and retention agreements, non-qualified deferred compensation programs and tax.
Mike has extensive experience in ERISA with a focus on the issues relating to private investment funds, including funds that are treated as holding plan assets and funds that are treated as not holding plan assets. He regularly participates in structuring funds or specific investments so as to comply with the plan assets regulation.
In addition, Mike is knowledgeable about compensation and other employee benefits, particularly in the context of mergers & acquisitions, financings and business restructurings. He is especially knowledgeable about designing employee retention programs at financially distressed employers.
